Fablabs have an active role to play in healthcare provision and the development of new systems and products that benefit patients. In Ireland work to date has shown a significant therapeutic impact around Mental Health work across a spectrum of ages and conditions. Programmes with Action Mental Health and regional Health Trusts have seen positive outcomes around reducing isolation, encouraging conversation and developing Self Esteem.
1. Digital Makers is an exciting artist and technology led project centered around older people getting involved in digital making with each other. It’s an innovative approach to making, creativity and reducing isolation and its negative health impacts on older people.
